It was a packed weekend for the DMP Women’s & Girls section, with three fixtures and even a seaside training session!

Friday night saw our Ladies Touch side take on Ashington at home. After a hard fought game against an experienced side it was Ashington who came out as 5-3 winners, with players from both sides then enjoying the opening game of the World Cup in the CrossBar!

On Sunday both our U14s and U16s had their first games of the season. Our U14s side joined forces with Stockton once again against Penrith, and after a close run game ended up with a narrow 27-29 loss. The U16s joined forces with Billingham against a strong Stockton side, with the opposition running out 20-29 winners. Both of our sides had new players to the team and all worked hard together to produce an awesome afternoon of girls rugby.

To round off a busy weekend our U18s enjoyed a training session on the beach, working on their skills and fitness before their season gets underway.
