Our ladies travelled up to our hosts Gateshead, with a couple of players pulling out last minute we went up with no subs we were unsure how this was going to pan out especially when we arrived to see they had a very large subs bench.
However in the spirit of grassroots rugby Gateshead loaned us a few players to make the numbers even, this also allowed all of their ladies to get some decent pitch time.
DMP won the toss to play up hill first with the blinding sun behind us.
DMP were quick to break through to get the first score on the board, , DMP got a few more over the line then Gateshead retaliated and crossed the line. Both teams managed to get a few more over the line.
At half time the sun had dipped down behind the houses and it was DMP turn for the slight down hill run, with help from our loaned players we broke through and got a few more tries down over the line.
Gateshead kept battling and scored another try before the final whistle.
We appreciated the support from Gateshead to still be able to get the ladies on the pitch.
