Morpeth U16s 19-38 DMP / Billingham U16s

With the u16’s heading north to Morpeth on what could be called a VERY WET day we were unsure on what we would come away with, with it being the first time we’d played them.

With Morpeth choosing to kick off our girls set to receive, gathering the high ball well working there way through 3/4 phases very well to then get the ball out to be ran in under the post followed by the conversion. Another 2 tries followed in quick succession.

It took Morpeth a while to find there feet constantly putting pressure on but our defence holding them at bay, they eventually caught our defence on the back foot to break through to get a try in the first half.

In the second half Morpeth came out fighting constantly pushing our defence left to right breaking through for another try.
DMP come back fighting scoring another 3 tries with only 2 conversions missed from 6.

With the conditions being very demanding both teams made ball handling errors which was to be expected, but our girls managed to capitalise on some of these errors by winning the scrums.
