For reasons too complicated to explain here, this season The Piranhas are joining forces with Rockcliffe Park u15 girls in the North East u15 league. Neither of us have enough girls to make a full team - this way we both get a full set of fixtures.
So Kat, Cassie, Lucy, Erin, Pickles and Megan travelled to Corbridge to take on Tynedale. As it turned out Rockcliffe only contributed 1 player, making it 7 a side and no subs, against a team with 15 players to choose from!
But the girls were up to the task and tries from across the team resulted in a convincing win - we even kicked some conversions!
Particular mention goes to Pickles for stealing an opposition line out to score, Lucy for her chip and chase, Cassie for at least one big tackle and Kat for her try whilst under pressure.
The less said about the early closure of the clubhouse at Tynedale, the better.
Many thanks to Tony and Rockcliffe for their support in getting us the game and we hope this is the first of many.
Player of the Match (as selected by the opposition) - Megs.
