MUD BATH

Two U8s sides were in excellent muddy encounters with two Yarm teams. Both sides improved as they went along, despite the cold and mud.
Particularly pleasing comments were:
Excellent handling from Joshua
Great offloading from Joshua
Excellent captaincies from William, Harry and Aodan.

“Aodan’s are best player”
This is despite disciplinary problems from Aodan. He was heard swearing and cited for kicking mud in team mates’ and parents’ faces. Captain Lishman and Head Coach Furness gave a joint statement, “This matter is being dealt with internally using U8s disciplinary procedures. It is particular frustrating as Aodan played and captained well before these incidents.”

There is always room for improvement. Areas individuals need to improve include passing: backwards not forwards and keeping one defensive line.

Next week training at Mowden and we will be practising this.

Finally well done to the Beast of the Week, William and players of the week Harry and Joshua. However on reflection there could and should have been only one player of the week: Claire Gratton for collecting subs and taking home 12 black kits and 6 black bibs!
