Sunday morning saw Mowden Park U7's welcome Hartlepool for a double header of entertaining tag rugby. What was especially impressive was the great sportsmanship on show despite both of the games being competitive affairs. Whilst this is the second time these sides have met in recent months it was clear to see that the work that the coaches have been putting in to developing the youngsters is really paying off, as both teams showed a good improvement in play and understanding.
The first game mainly involved Edward, Kyle, Oliver, Jonathon and Caedmon for Mowden Park and the guys showed some excellent handling in the muddy conditions. Both teams were tagging well and the scoring was free flowing at both ends. Almost all the players were on the scoresheet at some stage with Caedmon scoring his first try with a successful lunge in to the corner. Although Mowden played extremely well they were narrowly beaten in this first encounter.
The second game saw Mowden mainly featuring Iain, Sophie, Aaron and Jack. Again, the game was played in an excellent fair spirit with great defending and some excellent tries. All four players got on the scoresheet, and Mowden managed a good victory in this game.
