U8s vs Acklam & West Hartlerpool

You could tell the hard work was beginning to pay off before the whistle blew to start the the first game, the Mowden Park U8s lined, in perfection, perfectly spaced across the pitch, in defensive formation, ready to play - they new what had to be done, and they did it, with a first match victory of 8 tries to 0 against Acklam, and for those that have watched minis rugby they will appreciate the importance of a clean sheet defensively.

The team went on to play two more games, emerging victorious by 6 tries to 4 against Hartlepool, and again victorious against Acklam, this time a closer 8 tries to 3 - despite a bitter wintry rain show that destroyed a lot of feeling in young, cold hands. This win also included a first match day try for Finley Lloyd with a great run some three quarters of the pitch, all started from a loose ball and being aware of the game in front of him.

However they played through, and we ended our final outing of 2014 undefeated, we have a Christmas party to look forward to in a couple of weeks and then back to training on January 11th - lets hope we can pick up where we left off, in excellent shape, and really playing well.
