Under 9s triumph at Billingham

Congratulations to the under 9s team that attended Billingham today! 

Billingham have been hard opposition demonstrating physicality and skill that has trumped our under 9 team once already this season during the shaping the game festival. 

On this occasion though Billingham didnt know what hit them. Our team of 8 came out in the first game to tear through Billingham defence and open the scoring. What ensued was a game led by our under 9 s throughout with scoring reaching somewhere in the region of 9 points to 5. The Mowden Park defence was epic, every player closing down and doing their part to ensure every loose ball was secured and Billingham touchline  runners were enthusiastically taken into touch to turn over the ball.

In the second game Billingham opened the scoring and then one for one  scoring meant it was 5 points a piece at half time. DMP redoubled their efforts and worked hard in the second half to widen the gap and final scores 7 to 5 in our favour. 

This was a tough fixture but our under 9s showed great  determination as always in attack, but this fixture was characterised by equally ferocious tackling and defence work. Well done to Adam, William, Jack, Freddie, Mathew, Davey, Josh and Arthur!
