Not the best of Days for the U9's

Mowden u9's travelled to Gateshead looking to continue their form from the previous week. It was Gateshead who got off to a good start as Mowden seemed to be left wanting in all areas despite the efforts of Regan and his eagerness to make the first tackle. Mowden then started to put in some good moves through Jack and Stephen as they looked to respond from their slow start. Will Todd managed to respond with 3 tries before the break and give Mowden some respectability before half time. The second half saw Gateshead continue their dominance as a disjointed Mowden were found wanting without a response.

The second game saw Mowden put up a better show with new boy Mason finding his confidence and bringing his team mates Matthew and Stephen into the game. William was now running with ball also allowing Lyle to run through and score two. More good running from Stephen rewarding him with two determined tries as Mowden fought well only losing this encounter by a couple of tries.

Not the best performance from the Under 9's but a spirited second game gave them some respectability. Again Regan showed his tackling ability, where Jack and Brook ran well with the ball.
Better running from Matthew and a good debut for Mason were also two positives. Seven tries overall: Two good tries each from Lyle and Stephen and three tries form Will despite only playing a short part in the encounter.
