Match against Durham 2nd October 2011

At last the much anticipated first game of the season arrived with us facing tough opponents Durham City, as we were now introducing ruck and maul into our game we knew we were in for a tough contest.We welcomed 5 new players to our team who proved valuable additions during the match.
Our first game kicked off well and our boys worked hard from the start, with some superb tackles by Regan, Stephen, Will, Gabriel and Mason which kept the score to a minimum, together with some good runs from Will, William, Regan and Jack that just didn't quite get us the tries. Our new boys Liam , Dylan, Sam, Joe and Gabriel maintained our defense throughout our first game.
Already playing one game we went straight into a second match against a rested Durham City team. In this match our boys kept their heads in the game and an energetic match was played with two fantastic tries from Will and Stephen, brilliant runs from Dylan, Regan, Jack, Matthew, Brooke and Mason along with some powerful tackles by all of our boys.
The final score was 6-2 to Durham. We may have been pipped to the win but if our boy's performances in the last quarter of the game have anything to go by we are in for a promising season.
