A good day for Rugby

A lovely sunny morning when our hosts Redcar won the toss choosing to receive the kick with Noah captaining the team. The opening kick off came from Max beautifully placed in the corner. Mowden winning the first scrum, leaving Seth driving the ball to achieve our first try. Then came a cross field kick for the try to be disallowed for a knock on over the line but great positive play from the boys, we had a productive scrum that meant the ball went through the backs hands and Liam scored in the corner winning a try. The forwards entered another scrum, we were held up denying our try, well played Redcar.

After Half Time Redcar came back with gusto and enthusiasm putting the pressure on the Mowden boys. Scrum down on the half way line to Mowden, Eddie, Max, Zach and Lauchy passing smoothly down the line to Harry galloping into action to the try line. Confidently came another great scoop and try by the forceful Jamie. Redcar still delivering the pressure resulting in an eager kick up the pitch then scoring a try from Redcar's number 10.

Great play today from Jamie and Zach. Luan with fabulous communication in the second half and Kosi's smashing tackles.
Mowden went on to win the game with all the boys leaving the pitch with smiles on their faces, but huge credit to Redcar for never giving up and getting the better of using the last quarter. Thanks also for hosting us as we enjoyed their company for the England vs Tonga RWC opener.
