Determined performance

After a hesitant start, which allowed Billingham to race into a 15-nil lead, DMP Whites go into the game and gave Billingham a good test. After 20 minutes, with the DMP pack starting to get on top, Benjamin Turnbull was able to race 20 metres from a very solid scrum to score a debut try.

Into the second half and DMP continued to match Billingham both up front, with Oliver Chew setting the tackling standard, and also with some strong running from the backs, especially Sam Shanks in the centre and Callum Poppitt at fly half. As DMP looked for another score Callum Poppitt made a long kick forward which Sam Shank was able to capitalise on and go over for a debut try.

Now the game was really on, but much as they pressed DMP were unable to get a further score, and as the full time whistle approached Billingham ran away with the game with a couple of further scores.
