Tries continue to flow

DMP were off to a flyer again, Jacob Mehegan breaking down the left wing, the ball being feed back across the line, Tom Dixon showing great handling to pick a pass off his toes and tee up Sol Kench for the opening score. Jacob was again causing problems for Blaydon on the left three minutes later but again couldn't make the try line. When the ball was recycled Joe Berry fed John Grey with a try scoring pass. Straight from the kick off Joe Berry made a break down field allowing John Grey to carry on up field before finding James Garlick in support for try number three.

After this three try blitz Blaydon started to get into the game and made DMP do some defending, but Blaydon were unable to break through allowing DMP to return deep into Blaydon territory. The DMP scrum was dominant with Matthew Smith taking a number against the head. After good interplay between the backs and the forwards the DMP back row received the ball in midfield for Joe Berry to make ground and then feed Tom Dixon to go over under the posts - John Grey added the conversion on 14 minutes. Four minutes later further good passing by the DMP backs released Sam Berry to gallop over from distance in the left corner. The game was then interrupted by a nasty looking injury to a Blaydon player which thankfully turned out to be less serious than first feared.

Half time score 27 - 0

The second half continued much the same as the first and within 2 minutes DMP were pressing with a five metre scrum. The ball came back to Joe Berry who scored allowing Sol Kench to add the conversion. Sol turned try scorer three minutes later after chasing a John Grey kick ahead with John kicking the conversion.

As the game wore on the Blaydon pack started to tire, allowing Joe Berry to take the game by the scruff of the neck. First he made a 50 metre break down the left which set up Ezra Laundy-Blair to feed Jacob Wilson to score and then Joe scored himself after a good break by Rufus Fox, which Sol Kench converted. Joe was at it again after 43 minutes with his breaking leading to a maul from which Matthew White broke to score on the left. DMP contained on top with John Grey finishing the game with a try and conversion of this own.
