Another away game although not too far yhis time; West Mills and the very warm welcome from our hosts, Bishop Auckland.
A dry day and a wide pitch allowed the lads to try and play some expansive rugby. Once again a slow start allowed our opposition to put us under some early pressure including their new recruit Charlie Pearson.
Once the Mowden team realised they had to keep away from the powerful Bishop forwards and allowed our strengths to shine the scoreboard started to have points put on it.
Our highest try scorer this season, Rory Anderson added to his tally with another hat-trick including a great run around his opposite number to score under the posts.
Adam Brown also added to his try count with another two, he is developing with every minute on the pitch making the No 8 jersey his own.
Newcomer to the team “Big” Chris Heron showed the lads he will become a great asset to the team and scoring on his debut, well done Chris and welcome to the team, and thank you Mrs Heron for giving the shirts a wash.
Three conversions were successful this week from the boot of Big Jim Robinson.
Next week sees the guys at the Arena against Stockton, we personally can’t wait!
