DMP hosted Redcar in front of a large vocal crowd in the floodlit Arena

Despite the amazing atmosphere, conditions made handling tough, however DMP were able to dominate possession and make good yardage through a number of line breaks from Carlon, Chalmers, Maull and Graham, however ultimately these came to nothing either due to handling and execution errors or high-quality Redcar counter-rucking.

DMP's defence continued to look strong however Redcar looked like they had the potential to score when play became stretched.

With 15mins played and with DMP now in the ascendancy a Try looked inevitable and when Graham broke down the right Redcar's scrambling defence brough him down just short of the line. DMP recycled but Redcar repelled attempts by Brennan and then Park to get over, before Graham went in under the posts (Converted - Furness) 7-0

DMP continued to push and were now dominating both territory and possession however chances continued to go begging.

Some good runs got DMP to the Redcar goal line where both Elison, then Wild were stopped short, the later illegally. The penalty was given and some quick thinking by Furness saw him tap and go and dot down for DMP's second Try (Conversion missed - Furness) 14-0

DMP again got within inches of the Redcar line, but some fantastic counter-rucking saw the danger cleared. Moments later DMP butchered a 3 on 1 overlap which led to Redcar breaking downfield before a last-ditch tackle prevented the Try.

The early exchanges in the second half saw Redcar put DMP on the back foot with some good possession and territory as well as gain the advantage in the scrum. DMP defence was stretched form one side of the pitch to the other, but impressive tackles and a turnover on the goal line saw DMP clear their lines and few phases later they we back in the Redcar half.

Strong defence kept Redcar pinned down in their own 22, before DMP regained possession and Graham ran great line to go over for his second and DMP's third. (Converted - Furness) 19-0

Following the restart DMP put the ball through the hands from one side of the pitch to the other, before Graham grubber kicked ahead, he was able to kick on again before the bounce of the ball found Maull who grounded the ball to left of the posts. (Converted 26-0)

This effectively ended the game as a contest, however to their credit Redcar did not give up, following a huge amount of possession and phases they were able to work their way downfield. DMP defence made tackle after tackle however Redcar would not be stopped and eventually crashed over with the final play of the game to deny DMP their first shutout.

This match backed up our performance against Blaydon with good defence and solid tackling again on display, we came unstuck against some very good rucking which we will work on, along with improving our passing in attack.

Man of the match as ever was tough call as again there were a number of players who put in good performances, however, for his strong runs through the Redcar defence as well as strong performance defensively this week's Man of the match went to Billy Maull.
