DMP u15

Darlington Mowden Park under 15s travelled north this morning to Ryton for the Durham County plate quarter Final.
A slightly reduced squad of 17, took on Ryton. Alex Carter got DMP off to a fantastic start with first try in the opening few minutes. Beautifully converted, despite a strong wind, by Jonny Royle.
First half was a closely matched affair with Ryton getting a try back But DMP were able to pull ahead with try’s from Tom Hind and Bruno Brown. DMP defended well to keep Ryton out, half time coming with the score at 21 - 5 to DMP.
Ryton made a strong start to the second half with an early converted try, bringing them back into the game. Some big defence from Alex Carter, and an excellent tackle from Cody Godfrey in the midfield held Ryton at bay. DMP were able to get into their stride, A great run by Ruben Brand carrying the ball from his own line to score a full length try, and a further 3 try’s from Bruno Brown pushed the score to Ryton 12 v 43 DMP. Particular mentions should go to Matty Wilson who despite being ill, did a great job, as did the DMP pack with some solid scrums creating plenty of balls for the backs. The backs looked lively throughout running the Ryton backs around.
