Rosslyn Park started brightly, and took the lead through an Owen Waters penalty inside the opening 5 minutes. Mowden then went ahead after Carl Guest latched onto a break from Brandon Asher-Wood to dot down on the left. Fullback Oscar Yandall slotted the conversion to give the hosts a 4 point lead. The rest of the opening half was then largely dominated by the visitors, who crossed for three tries in the space of 15 minutes. Their first came through Arthur Ellis, who bundled over from a driving maul. Callum Mackenzie was then shown yellow for a high tackle on Henry Robinson - with Jared Saunders scoring in similar fashion from the resulting 5m lineout. Their third came through captain Jack Gash who was on the end of a Cokanasiga offload to cross under the posts. Another Owen Waters penalty took the score to 7-25 at the break.
The second half started as the first had finished, with Waters extending the Rosslyn Park lead to 21 points with a well struck penalty. Mowden responded well however and dominated the remainder of the game. Brandon Asher-Wood created and finished DMP's second try after 53 minutes, breaking clear and kicking ahead before diving over after a looping pass from Ben Frankland. Ollie Dawe was then sent to the bin after repeated infringements for the visitors, however Mowden were unable to capitalise on their man advantage as Rosslyn defended well. Replacement Freddie Lockwood made a great impact on his debut for DMP with a couple of great breaks from his own half, the second of which led to Mowden's third try. After some great footwork from Will Jones found a gap in the visiting defence, Lockwood charged clear and was brought down by a high tackle on the Rosslyn 22. After a quick tap from Craggs Mowden worked their way up to the line, where Ben Frankland dived over from close range. Despite their late attempts for a fourth try which would have delivered 2 bonus points, Rosslyn Park saw it out to seal their fourth try of the season.
Mowden now travel to Caldy next weekend, before returning to the Arena on Saturday 9th October when they take on Bishop's Stortford.
