Another brilliant performance at the Arena saw Darlington Mowden Park extend their winning run over the travelling Richmond.

A hat-trick for Josh Ree, coupled with tries from Henry Hadfield (2) and Obi Ene helped DMP to their fourth consecutive home win after a thrilling game.

Mowden started on the front foot, and scored inside 3 minutes when Josh Ree dotted down under the posts after a break from Callum Pascoe. DMP's second followed soon after, with Henry Hadfield finishing well in the corner after a quick counter attack from deep. Richmond worked their way back into the game, first through a try from David Massey who burrowed over from close range. Yaree Fantini was then sent to the bin for an illegal clearout, with Lewis Dennett edging Richmond closer with a penalty while Mowden were down to 14. The end-to-end nature of the first half continued when Ree scored from first phase lineout ball, before Richmond replied through Jake Monson when Garry Law was shown yellow for a breakdown infringement. Half time score 19-17.

Richmond took the lead for the first time early in the second half when Chidera Obonna managed to ground the ball in the corner, with the missed conversion leaving the visitors with a 2 point lead. That was wiped out soon after though, with Ree wrapping up his hat trick after a linebreak from Ollie Fletcher. Richmond were then reduced to 14 when Henry Cheeseman was sent to the bin. Mowden took full advantage, with Hadfield diving over for his second on the back of a flowing team move. That took DMP's lead to 7, before a late try for Obi Ene wrapped up a convincing home win and a third consecutive victory in National One.

Josh Ree was awarded Man of the Match honours after his hat-trick performance, and congratulations must also go to Matty Siddle who came off the bench to make his National One debut for the club, making some big tackles in the process!

Mowden now head to Moseley in Round 19, while Richmond return to the Athletic Ground when they take on Sale FC.
