Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who travelled, we took 11 players with us which is one short of being able to field two squads, but better yet some players had only trained once, and certainly hadn't had the time to gel with their team mates - the grins at the end tell me that process has started!
We were up against some traditionally well trained, and larger squads than ourselves, in the likes of the hosts Durham, Westoe and Sunderland and Houghton send teams too, and whilst we don't make too much of a big deal of scoring it's often obvious to see which teams are the stronger. Am glad to report that none of the opposition looked to having anything on us. In fact we were one of the few teams that managed to hold our defensive line and win turn over ball by holding to the 7th tag, and we did this on three separate occasions.
At the other end we had some great support play, wide running and some cracking team and individual tries - well done all. Looking forward now to next week where we are home to Sunderland and Ryton.
