DMPRFC are pleased to announce that Kevin Robinson is the new Club Chairman.

This was determined at a meeting of the DMPRFC General Committee on Thursday 9th May 2024 at the Darlington Arena.

Kevin has been an integral part of DMPRFC since 1978, having represented the club at 1st XV level as a player and then as captain of the club.

Kevin has been Club Honorary Secretary since 2008, as well as Durham County RFU Club Representative during those years.

He is also Senior Vice-President of Durham County RFU, due to become President for the 2024/25 season, which will be only the third time a member of DMPRFC has attained that position, with club stalwarts in the late Frank Robson and the late AFW ’Tony’ Hammond paving the way ‘back in the day’.

On his new appointment at DMPRFC, Kevin said: "I am very proud to have become the Club Chairman and consider it an honour to be at the helm of such a wonderful club.

I can assure everyone within the ‘Mowden Family’ that, with the help of the club committee, club volunteers and of course the fantastic members themselves throughout each section of the club, that I will do my utmost to ensure that the club will remain progressive at every level, inclusive at every level and just a ‘fab’ place with which to be associated.

With the previous Club Chairman, Mick Birch, standing down at the end of the season, I wish to whole-heartedly thank him for his commitment during his chairmanship, which has been total and the exemplary manner in which he has carried out the business of the club, his enthusiasm, wit (jokes were awful, but I give him them!!) and sincerity. Also that I remain his mate, which has been the case for over 30 years. He certainly will be a hard act to follow."

On behalf of everyone at the club we wish Kevin all the very best in the new role.
