Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to confirm the clubs that will make up the National 2 North division for the 2026/27 season following official confirmation from National League Rugby.
The upcoming campaign promises to be another fiercely competitive one, featuring a mix of familiar rivals, promoted sides and new opposition as clubs from across the North prepare for the challenges ahead.
One notable change sees Chester move across from National 2 West into National 2 North, with Macclesfield making the switch in the opposite direction. Chester's arrival adds another well-established club to an already competitive division.
We are also pleased to welcome three promoted clubs from the regional league structure. Heath, Harrogate and Huddersfield have all earned their places in National 2 North following outstanding seasons at regional level and will be eager to test themselves at the national level.
Joining them is Sedgeley Park Tigers, who return to National 2 North following their relegation from National 1. Sedgeley Park bring a wealth of experience and will undoubtedly add further quality and competitiveness to the league.
While we welcome several new clubs, we also bid farewell to three sides who have been valued members of the division in recent years. Following relegation to the regional leagues, Scunthorpe and Rossendale and hull leave National 2 North after difficult campaigns.
Everyone at Darlington Mowden Park would like to thank both clubs for their contribution to the league and for the competitive encounters shared over the last season. We wish them every success moving forward and hope to see them return to the National Leagues in the near future.
The 2026/27 season promises fresh challenges, new rivalries and exciting opportunities as DMP prepare to compete once again at the national level.
With the league structure now confirmed, attention turns to fixture release day and preparations for another exciting campaign at The Darlington Arena.
