Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to confirm that they will host their first ever Friday night fixture in National One when they welcome Leeds Tykes to the Arena on Friday 22nd April 2022, in association with SG Petch. The landmark fixture sees DMP host their nearest rivals Leeds for the first time in league competition, having faced off in pre-season in 2018.

Billed as “Friday Night Lights”, the big game will feature live music, street food vendors and an array of entertainment as part of a marquee showcase of National One rugby. Speaking ahead of the announcement, DMP’s Danny Brown commented: “We’re really pleased to finally be able to host a Friday night fixture at the Arena, and we’re grateful to Leeds for their cooperation in putting this on. This is something that we’ve been hoping to do for a few seasons now and so we’re delighted to be able to get a date confirmed.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for us to welcome a new audience to the Arena and we hope that a lot of local clubs will be able to come down and enjoy some National One rugby without their own fixture on the same day. It promises to be a great atmosphere and I’m sure it will be a highlight of the rugby calendar!”

The penultimate fixture of the season will kick off at 7.30pm, with group booking offers and hospitality packages going on sale at the end of this month. DMP Director of Rugby Garry Law added: “The lads are all hugely excited to play under the lights in front of a big local crowd. Evening fixtures always bring something extra and we’re all very much looking forward to being a part of it.”
