Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce the signing of Bernardo Nogueira ahead of the upcoming National One season. The Portuguese fly half will join up with his new teammates later this month as they continue their pre-season preparations for the new campaign. Asked about making the move to the North East, the 21 year-old said: "I'm really grateful for the opportunity to represent this club. What really caught my attention was the free flowing style of rugby DMP played last season which I think suits me well, and that played a huge part in my decision to commit. Can’t wait to run out on the Arena with such a quality group of boys!"

Nogueira joins the club from Swansea University, having previously represented CDUP in his native Portugal. The versatile back, who can cover both fly half and full back, brings international quality to the DMP squad having represented Portugal U20s at last year's Rugby Europe Championships.

Asked about the latest new arrival to the club, Director of Rugby Garry Law added: "Bernardo is a young player with lots of potential. He has an eye for a gap and a good kicking game to boot. He will add competition to both the 10 and 15 positions which will be a benefit to our relatively small squad this season."
