Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce the signing of fly Matt Minogue for the upcoming National One campaign. The Australian fly half joins from Scottish Super 6 side Ayrshire Bulls and has already linked up with his new side’s pre-season preparations. Asked about signing for DMP, he commented: “I’m very pleased and excited to be joining DMP for the upcoming season, excited to meet all the lads and rip in as soon as possible.”

“I’m joining DMP because it looks like a very tight club where the fans are loyal and love coming to games, the lads also look like a good bunch of blokes that want to play a good brand of rugby week in week out.”

The 22 year-old joins the club having also represented Rotherham Titans last season in National Two North. Looking ahead to the upcoming season, the former Australian schoolboys international added: “Winning is always the goal in any team sport really, but personally I would love to help the club to a promotion to the championship and along the way meet as many people that I can on and off the field.”

Minogue’s arrival takes the tally of summer signings to eight, following fellow backs Ali Ledingham, Callum Pascoe, Morgan Passman and Henry Hadfield. Speaking about the latest addition to the DMP squad, Director of Rugby Garry Law added: “I’m looking forward to Matt linking up with the squad. His style of play is perfect for the way we want to play at DMP. He has a great running game but also a very astute kicking game to boot.”
