Darlington Mowden Park are pleased to announce that Brandon Asher-Wood has become the latest player to sign up for the 2022/23 season. The South African has made 63 appearances for the club since signing in 2017, and goes into his fifth full season in the North East. Asked about extending his stay at the Arena, Asher-Wood said: “Re-signing with DMP was made easy by a great bunch of lads and a style of play that suits my game. I'm really itching to get back out there and hopefully we will be a lot more consistent in our performances this season. I think we owe it to our fans and ourselves.”

The 29 year-old winger made 15 appearances last season, scoring 3 tries in the process to take his personal tally to an impressive 29 tries in his 63 games in blue and white. His try against Rams in February saw him earn Man of the Match honours, following up with a try the next week against Cambridge.

Asked about retaining Asher-Wood for another season, Director of Rugby Garry Law added: “We’re pleased that Brandon is with us again for the upcoming season. He has shown that when he is fully fit, he is a key player for us and someone that can be a real threat in attack in those wide channels. Hopefully he has an injury free season and can really get his game going.”
