Mowden make it 4 wins from 4 after another nailbiting finish at the Darlington Arena!

An enthralling game saw DMP stretch their winning streak to 4 games on Saturday with a bonus point victory over Plymouth.

The early stages were dominated by DMP, who stretched to a 21 point lead inside the opening quarter. Their first came after just 5 minutes, with a beautifully orchestrated backs move seeing Morgan Passman sprint clear for his 17th try of the campaign. DMP doubled their lead soon after, as Max Fraine finished smartly off the back of a catch and drive. It didn't take long for the third to follow, with Passman heavily involved again as the winger broke a couple of tackles before feeding Matt Minogue who dived over under the posts. Minogue converted each of the opening 3 tries, but the remainder of the first half saw Albion fight their way back into the game. The strength of the visitors' driving maul was apparent, playing a part in each of their four tries on the day. First a penalty try was awarded after Yaree Fantini was adjudged to have come in at the side, with the DMP number 8 shown yellow in the process. Their second followed in similar fashion, with hooker Jamie Salter profiting from another powerful catch and drive. A third came on the eve of half time, with another driving maul drawing in DMP defenders before the ball was spun wide for Kyle Spear to finish in the corner. Former DMP fullback Tom Putt converted to level the scores going into half time.

The second half started in similar fashion to the first, and Mowden restored their lead after just 2 minutes when Minogue finished well under penalty advantage for DMP's bonus point try. The next try proved decisive, as DMP stole an Albion lineout in their own half before a flowing team move was finished by captain Will Jones after a neat offload from Passman in the far corner. Plymouth were far from done however, and their bonus point try followed soon after when Harry Wilkinson profited from another trademark catch and drive. Putt's missed conversion left the gap at 7 points heading into the final quarter, setting up yet another nervy finish at the Arena. Albion continued to hammer away at the DMP line late on, and worked their way into the DMP 22 with time up on the clock. Spurred on by a vocal home crowd, Mowden's defence held firm, with Max Davies and Garry Law combining to hold up the Albion 9 in the tackle and see out a hard-fought win in the North East.

Another rollercoaster afternoon at the Arena then, as Mowden now travel to Taunton in Round 22 in search of a fifth consecutive league win.
