Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce the signing of Charlie Smith ahead of the upcoming National One season. The 19 year-old hooker signs from Newcastle Falcons, and joins the club's pre-season preparations at the Arena. Speaking ahead of his arrival at DMP, Smith said: "I’m buzzing to be joining DMP, and really excited for the season ahead."

Smith becomes Mowden's sixth new arrival of the summer, joining fellow forwards Eoin Harrison and Drew Davison. The England U18s international will also balance his time at the club with his University commitments this season.

Forwards Coach Joe Cain added: "Charlie’s an exciting addition to our squad having played at Falcons last season. Playing hooker and back row gives us options across the board. We will be managing him through a dual playing programme with us at DMP and Northumbria University."
