OE's have produced a number of high profile rugby names over the years. Andrew Sheridan played at Old Elthamians in the late 1980s and went on to play for Richmond, Bristol and Sale Sharks. The prop accumulated 40 caps for England and featured in two British & Irish Lions tours. Ben Ransom played all the way through from OEs under 7s, Kent and England age-groups and now plays full back for Saracens. DMP supporters may be familiar with a number of names in the current OE's squad, including Alex Rogers and Sam Egerton who both represented the Newcastle Falcons last season.
The London club are enjoying their first stint in National One having been promoted from National 2 South last season. They have established themselves by winning 11 games, drawing 1 and losing 8 which leaves them in a comfortable 6th position. OE’s are a very strong team at home, losing only 2 games at College Meadow all season. Their narrow losses have come against league leaders Coventry (16-20) and newly promoted rivals Bishop's Stortford (13-19).
Key players for OE’s who have been scoring the points are Fly Half, Joe Carlisle with 95 points and Full Back, Tom White with 78 points. Leading try scorer with 14 tries, is Winger Dominic Lespierre and he is joint 2nd top try scorer in the league.
