Our Season Finale sees Mowden Park face a Hull Ionians side in a vital game at the bottom of the National One table

Saturday's visitors Hull Ionians currently occupy 14th place in the table, with a record of 8 wins, 2 draws and 19 defeats. Top points scorer for Hull is fly half Isaac Green with 120 points to date and their top try scorer is winger Sam Wilson with 14 tries.
The last clash between today’s teams saw Hull come out on top in a narrow 16-10 win at Brantingham Park. A solitary DMP try that day from Santi Socino was not quite enough to overcome the home side. Historically since DMPRFC entered National
League One, we have recorded the following results against our visitors:

2015/16 - Hull Ionians 20 v DMPRFC 22
DMPRFC 43 v Hull Ionians 11

2016/17 – Hull Ionians 16 v DMPRFC 10

Hull come into this game with a huge amount to play for. They sit just 2 points clear of Blaydon in the battle against relegation, with bottom place Macclesfield already destined for the drop. A win here would ensure Ionians’ safety, but a loss would leave them waiting on results elsewhere. Blaydon visit Old Albanians, and I’m sure Hull Ionians fans will be keeping a keen eye on proceedings at Woollam Playing Fields.
Last weekend saw Ionians record a 46-33 win at home over Old Albanians, securing a 4-try bonus point in the process. Their efforts were matched by the chasing Blaydon, who earned a 40-24 victory over Rosslyn Park, setting up Saturday’s grandstand finish.
