Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce the signing of Connor Fitzsimmons. The 23 year-old centre joins from Irish side Rainey Old Boys, having previously represented Wellington at age group level in his native New Zealand. Asked about the move to the North East, he said: “I’m Really excited to be joining DMP, all the guys have been really welcoming and I can’t wait for the season to begin. I really like the look of the way DMP play and am ready to see if I can make the step up to Nat One rugby.”

The New Zealander, who has been playing in Ireland for the past few seasons, was looking forward to getting stuck into the season ahead: “My goals for this season are really just to find a way onto the pitch first and foremost and secondly to have a positive impact on the backline whenever playing minutes come my way.”

Fitzsimons becomes Mowden’s ninth new arrival of the summer, and Director of Rugby Garry Law was pleased with the latest addition to his squad: “Connor comes as a little bit of an unknown package having previously been playing to a decent level in Ireland. He's a big physical centre who I'm sure can bring something a little bit different to some of the other players around him.”
