Rugrats Rugby is a non - contact rugby specific play programme providing toddler and child rugby classes. The programme is specifically designed to take children through a journey teaching them how to pass, catch, kick and run as well as learn to be part of a team.
This October, The Northern Echo Arena welcomes the first joint Rugrats and Darlington Mowden Park rugby camp. This is open to children between the ages of 4-6 years, and taking place on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th October. This partnership also sees an expansion of the school's packages offered by the Community Scheme, which are now open to children from Reception age.
Anne Rose, Community Scheme Manager commented:
"We are very excited about this new partnership. Rugrats is a fantastic programme, allowing children from a young age to practice the basic elements of Rugby and get a taste for the sport. It also adds an extra element to our Club and Community pathway models; increasing the opportunities to play Rugby. We're delighted to have Rugrats Rugby as part of the growing Mowden Family."
Andrew Dryden, Rugrats Rugby Darlington and Teesside further added:
"The partnership between Rugrats Rugby Darlington - Teesside and Mowden Park Rugby Club is a fantastic opportunity to introduce basic rugby skills to Key Stage 1 school children. Our experience of working with this age group and Mowden's already existing school contacts means this partnership will give children the opportunity to enjoy rugby who have never experienced the game before."
