As preparations for the 2022/23 season continue, Darlington Mowden Park are thrilled to announce that Talite Vaioleti has re-signed with the club. The Tongan forward has made 167 appearances for DMP since joining in 2013, quickly establishing himself as a fan favourite in his 9 years in the North East. Asked about continuing his time with the club, Vaioleti said: “I’m really looking forward to playing my 10th season with DMP - where the team and the fans have become like family to me.”

One of the club’s most capped players, the Tongan international has been a regular in the DMP pack since signing from Jersey. Last season was no different, with the powerful second row making 21 appearances in 2021/22. Vaioleti scored 3 tries in the process, including a pivotal match winning try away to Leeds in March.

Heading into his 10th season at the club, Mowden fans will be hoping for more of the same from Vaioleti in 2022/23. Asked about retaining Vaioleti for the upcoming campaign, DMP Forwards coach Joe Cain added: “It’s great to see Vee continue with DMP. Over the years he’s given so much to the club and the fact he’s still playing to the standard he is it’s great to see. Age is definitely just a number!”
