Ray was one of the founding members, he started in 1946-47 in the Kings Head, as Darlington Grammar School Old Boys. They then moved to a room above Williams Garage, before moving into our own premises in Victoria Road where he was the clubhouse chairman for most of the years there. We eventually moved into the premises on Yiewsley Drive Where he continued to support the club.

In his latter years, he came to the Arena, but due to ill health, he couldn’t get to many games.

The funeral is on Tuesday 6th May 9am at Darlington Crematorium
