
The event previewed the up-coming season which starts with the opening round of fixtures on Saturday 8 September.
Alex Austerberry, new head coach at last season’s champions Saracens, Red Roses’ captain and Loughborough Lightning assistant coach and player Sarah Hunter, Red Rose and Harlequins captain Rachael Burford and RFU Director of Professional Rugby Nigel Melville discussed how the competition is revolutionising the existing landscape of women’s domestic rugby in England.
Tyrrells Premier 15s enjoyed a hugely successful first season with record attendances, quality competition including a thrilling final between Saracens and Harlequins, and numerous players fast-tracked through the performance pathway to represent England.
“We look forward to building on the success of the Tyrrells Premier 15s and this promises to be another hugely exciting year for the competition,” said Melville.
“We are creating the best domestic 15s women’s competition in the world. This is what will give us the winning advantage on the world stage.
