Three Fixtures Confirmed For August 2026

Darlington Mowden Park's preparations for the 2026/27 season are set to get underway, with the club confirming its three-match pre-season schedule ahead of the new campaign.

The Blue & Whites begin their summer programme with a trip north of the border to face the mighty Melrose Rugby on Saturday 8 August, providing the squad with a tough opening test as preparations begin in earnest.

Attention then turns to the Darlington Arena on Saturday 22 August, where Mowden welcome Blaydon for the club's first home fixture of the summer. The day will also play host to the club's Family Fun Day, with a range of activities planned for supporters of all ages. More details on the event will be announced in the coming weeks.

Pre-season concludes on Thursday 27 August, with a combined 1st & 2nd XV squad taking on Middlesbrough in the final outing before competitive rugby returns.

Kick-off times for all three fixtures will be confirmed in due course.
Saturday 8th August - Melrose (A)
Saturday 22nd August - Blaydon (H)
Thursday 27th August - Middlesbrough (H)

Director of Rugby Neil Young is looking forward to seeing his squad back in action and believes the fixtures provide the ideal platform to build towards the new season.

"We've put together a pre-season schedule that will challenge the squad in different ways and give us exactly what we need ahead of the league campaign. Melrose is always a great place to visit and will be a real test, while Blaydon and Middlesbrough give us two valuable opportunities to perform in front of our supporters at the Darlington Arena.

Pre-season is about building fitness, developing combinations and giving players the chance to stake their claim for a place. We're looking forward to seeing everyone back together and hopefully welcoming plenty of supporters along over the coming weeks."

Supporters are encouraged to keep an eye on the club's social media channels and website for confirmation of kick-off times, Family Fun Day announcements and further pre-season updates.

We can't wait to welcome the #MowdenFamily back to the Darlington Arena as the countdown to the new season begins.
