Darlington Mowden Park will be hoping to make it 5 league wins in a row on Saturday when they travel to Taunton Titans in a big game in National One.
Saturday's hosts currently sit in 12th position in the table, but a win could see them climb as high as 10th as the relegation battle continues to hot up in Nat 1. Tony Yapp's side have won 6 of their 21 games to date, and sit just 3 points behind Chinnor in the table. Unusually, Taunton's best form has come away from home this season where they've notched 4 of their 6 wins, including an impressive away win over Chinnor last month. Last weekend saw the Titans travel to Bishop's Stortford where they fell to a 39-7 defeat to halt a strong run of recent form.
Mowden meanwhile notched their fourth win in a row with a nervy 33-26 win over Plymouth Albion. The win saw DMP drag themselves further clear of what is becoming a very competitive relegation battle in National One, and currently sit 15 points clear of this weekend's opposition in 8th with just 5 rounds to go. Unlike Taunton, Mowden's best results this year have come at home, with 7 of their 9 wins coming at the Arena.
The two sides have met on three occasions since Taunton's promotion in 2020, with the Titans edging the head-to-head 2-1. Their last meeting saw Mowden run out 40-13 winners at the Arena, whilst DMP's last trip to Veritas Park ended in a 24-14 win for the hosts in torrential conditions last January.
Mowden fans will be hoping their side can continue their recent run of form on Saturday, while Taunton will be aiming for an important home win, setting up an exciting clash at Veritas Park. Live updates from Saturday's game will be available on the DMP Twitter feed.
