Mowden U10 Go from Strength to Strength

Mowden Park U 10 were extremely grateful to Bishop Auckland who hosted them and Sunderland who agreed to accommodate them in a. Last minute fixture. This was the first time the teams had met this season All of them were excellent. Two Mowden matches were played in freezing conditions against evenly matched teams.

Stars of Mowden’s performances were Alan Fenwick, Coach, and Kieran Foster, player. Alan was coaching for the first time after his first Level 2 Coaching session and improved all he squads tacking. Kieran Foster played his first match after two training sessions in one week. He tackled like a natural, played to the bitter (and it was bitter) end and supported his team with a very disciplined performance. His was the outstanding performance out of several high level individual players:
Tom Gilbert overcame a disappointing start to be solid; Aodan Furness continued to deliver his consistent strong level of performance,; George was a power house,; Danny made superb runs; Grace was inspirational with leadership, power and running; Euan made great runs and Will remains the outstanding tackler to the point that it is the exception that the opposition pass him.
Refereeing was also of a high standard and most importantly all players learnt.
