U10 equipped themselves well against Billingham in freezing conditions. Despite some demoralising experiences, not least the cold, U10 volunteered to play for Billiingham in a Barbarian Team. This was an excellent example to the opposition who did not reciprocate. Despite the demoralising circumstances U10 played some good rugby. Grace deserved Lady fo the Match for a run half the pitch to be “denied” a try by a push over the line which DMP felt was illegal. Connie very captained well, representing her team fairly and politely to the referee, which must have been a daunting task to do first time. Alan coached excellently keeping everyone warm and giving individual feedback and thanks to Bobbie for collecting subs. Areas that needed work were: The defensive line; Tackling; The concenrtation and reaction speed at restarts and the breakdown; Playing to the whistle, not looking for the whistle There were some excellent mauling from Connie and Callum. Tuesday is training with Andrew Dryden and Sunday I have asked Bosh to take U10 with U9 to work on tackling. Iain and Bobbie will be there to help.
