An exciting opportunity to join the Mowden Park Community department has arisen.

The vision of Mowden Park in the Community is to be more than a rugby club, by utilising the passion and family ethos of the Mowden Park brand, we work to provide opportunities and build brighter futures for people in our communities. We work across four main areas:

• Training, education and employment

This role will suit an enthusiastic and passionate individual who seeks a career in sport. The role will be responsible for delivering a range of Mowden Park in the Community programmes to schools and community groups, as well as promoting and delivering holiday camps and match-day festivals.

The position is based at the Northern Echo Arena but will work in areas including the Tees Valley, North Yorkshire and County Durham. Due to the nature of the job, some evening and weekend work will be required. The role will be required to work home match days throughout the season. Applicants who hold a valid driving licence and have access to a suitable vehicle are preferred. The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

The Royal Foundation are working in partnership with Team Middlesbrough on their Coach Core programme. This year ‘Team Middlesbrough’ will employ 20 young people who have the potential of becoming the future sports coach.

Those who demonstrate commitment and a will to want to better themselves in this sports coaching programme will then be offered year-long employment working and training for 30 hours a week on Coach Core beginning February 2019. You will work towards your Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship L2.

Details

Post: 30 hours per week, 12 to 15-month apprenticeship
Salary: Apprentice wage – currently £3.70 per hour
Reports to: Community Manager
