Darlington Mowden Park Sharks are delighted to announce the signing off Lauren Fisher ahead of the 2019/20 Tyrrells Premier 15s season. The young back joins the club from Pulborough, and will link up with the squad shortly as they begin their pre-season preparations. Ahead of her switch to the Sharks, Fisher commented: “It's a really exciting opportunity. I look forward to being part of a new club and working with new players and coaches that can develop my game and push me to the next level.”

Fisher will combine her rugby at the Arena with a degree at partners Durham University: “I wanted to balance my academic studies along with my rugby development, and felt that Durham and DMP offered me the best opportunity for me to do this.”

The 18 year-old back brings further international age group experience to the squad, having represented England & Great Britain’s U18 squads in the shorter 7s format. After also appearing for England TDG against Wales, the fly half / centre was excited for her latest challenge ahead: “After a difficult season with injury I'm looking forward to getting back to full fitness and being able to play my first senior rugby and gain some experience in the Tyrrells Premier 15s.”

Sharks Head of Programme Justin Loveridge added: “We’re delighted to sign Lauren Fisher for the upcoming season, she has a good skill set and reads the game well. I’ve watched Lauren play 7s and 15s for England 17s and have been very impressed with what I have seen. Her ability to play across the midfield will also add to the squad.”
