DMP V Eccles

A Welcome back to the team for Lyle Godfrey and a great effort during the game, also a welcome to Olly Bale playing his first game for DMP and again a great effort so well done to you both.
First half
Played on the main stadium pitch the DMP boys ready themselves for a competitive game against the touring Eccles side with both sets of players looking up for the victory. Five minutes into the game DMP have a scrum and put in at the half way line, two long zip passes from Ben T and Joe B creates the overlap for Aeron F to show his pace on the wing to score. 5-0 DMP
A good competition up front with strong running from John Mc, Harry W and Ezra LB and good work at the ruck from Ryan G, Lyle G working hard and with big hits going in from both sides. DMP find themselves at the Eccles 5 m line with possession at the scrum and for Harry W to peel off and power over for the try.

The next 10 minutes pass with both sides competing for ball until DMP find their opportunity with Sam B, Tom N and Will T linking up to shift the ball to Aeron F to sprint over once again for the try which was converted by Ben T. 17-0 DMP.
Eccles begin to fight back and manage to get points on the board just before half time. 17-5 DMP.

Second half
On the kick off DMP press forward with positive attacking play from Wilf H and Sol K showing his gas. DMP secure line out ball through Stephen H reaching high for the ball and followed up by good supporting play from Harry W and Wilf H to score. 22-5 DMP.
DMP are on a role and immediately score once more and again from Wilf H enjoying ball in hand.
27-5 DMP
Eccles fight back with 3 consecutive tries of their own to bring the score to 22-24 to Eccles. GAME ON !!
DMP coaches make some changes to lift the tempo and it worked with big hits going in to set up the attacking platform for George T to power over for the try converted by Ben T. 29-24 DMP.
With not long left of the game both sides were up for the victory with only a score between them. DMP manage to raise the tempo once again with good forward work creating the opportunity for Sam B to seal the victory and Ben T to convert. 36-24 to DMP.

Another great display of team man ship well done lads!!
