County Cup semi-final DMP v Houghton

First Half
The first minutes of the game pass quickly with both sides sizing each other up DMP piling in with big hits to unsettle the opposition, scrum at the half way line which DMP manage to tidy up loose ball and press with Houghton on the back foot. DMP piling in maintain the momentum through Strong running, eventually leading to the first try scored by Joe Berry and converted by his brother Sam Berry. 7-0 DMP

DMP are straight in on the kick off with a strong run from Sol Kench setting up the field position which DMP manage to secure the ball from the scrum leading to Innes Hill smashing his way over for the try and Will Todd to convert 14-0 to DMP.

Houghton fight back and came close to scoring but DMP read the move and shut the attack down with Sam Berry clearing their line. Houghton press again but loose their line out to DMP. Houghton keen to get a score attack down the right wing again shut down by a good tackle by Aaron Fernandez. Houghton continue to apply pressure at DMP's 22 desperate for a try with some great defensive work from Ezra, Sam Berry, Matthew White, Will Hickerson and Harry Wilson to name a few. Houghton though manage to maintain possession and are awarded a penalty 14-3 DMP

DMP immediately respond and take advantage of a Houghton mistake to score through Aeron Fernandez. Converted by Will Todd 26-3 DMP

Second Half
On the red start DMP set up a fantastic attack through superb running and handling seeing a real team effort starting with a strong run from Joe Berry on to Sol Kench with a nice offload to Ben Turnbull who put in a strong fend on the Houghton defender to go over for the try 31-3 DMP

DMP are looking really strong again Sol Kench produces a strong run and fend to score 36-3 DMP. DMP make changes with Will Thompson, Stephen Henry, Matthew Auger and Wilf coming on. Houghton desperate to score press and eventually make it over the line for a well deserved try 36-10 DMP

DMP strike back through quick hands and Sam Berry running an excellent line to set up Will Todd for the try. 41-10 DMP. Houghton manage to close the game with a try of their own in the last few minutes of the game.
Another great performance from a great team now onto the County Cup Final ....well done !!!!!
