DMP under 16 match report playing away to Bishop 26th November 2017

The first half:

A positive start from the kick off by DMP with a strong run from Tom Nelson down the right flank well supported by Sol Kench clearing out in the ruck allowing the ball to be shipped quickly from 9 to 15 quickly creating the overlap down the right wing for Aaron Fernandes to fly in for the try 5-0 DMP.
Both teams settling into the game and competing well for territory, quick ball from the scrum enables DMP to push to the Bishop 15m line, the whole DMP team working like a well-oiled machine together drive the Bishop defence back and over their own try line and Sam Shanks scores the try. 10-0 DMP.
On the kick off Bishop attack and are awarded a penalty at the DMP 22. 10-3 DMP
DMP react and up the tempo working through multiple phases Matthew White, Robert Carney and Will Hickerson working hard to get the ball to Sol Kench who fends off the Bishop defence with a strong hand off and run to score. 15-3 DMP.
DMP are looking very impressive having created the overlap with quick fluid passing several times they are on the attack again. Bishop have the put in at the scrum on their own 5 m line and attempt to clear their lines but can’t as Ben Turnbull read the move and disrupted the kicker, a maul is formed with Bishop still in possession attempt the clearing kick once more to be blocked by the long reach of Mathew Beck allowing Ben Turnbull to catch and dive over the line for the try. Converted by Will Todd. 22-3 DMP.

Second Half:
On the kick off Bishop press well with ball in hand but with impressive tackling from Harry Wilson and Adil Ahmed force the knock on. 10 mins pass with no score both teams competing for possession and territory. Bishop looking for a score continue to press testing the DMP defence with some excellent tackling from Will Thompson and George Todd. A maul forms and Ezra L Blair goes to work ripping the ball for the turn over and to push forward. Bishop press again and attack from a scrum at the DMP 5 m line and again some great fully committed tackling coming in from Joe Berry, Will Todd and Regan Godfrey, a maul is formed and Bishop have the momentum to go over for a deserved try following a sustained period of pressure. 22-10 DMP.
DMP immediately react with strong attacking play from Ezra L Blair and Will Todd to score a great try. Sam Berry to convert 29-10 DMP.
DMP have the momentum and are looking to score before the final whistle with Sam Berry setting up the attack DMP keep possession and move the ball to Innes Hill who has try on his mind and with only 3 Bishop players in front of him he makes the 40 metres to score.
