Final game of the season

The last game of the season and an opportunity for the boys to showcase their talents in the arena. The opposition from Middlesbrough are historically a stern test and this mornings encounter proved to be no different. The squad was a bit thin due to injuries sustained by a number of players, so it was a good opportunity for all those present to get game time.

The first half proved to be a close affair with both teams looking to attack whilst also staying resolute in defence and it was the boys in blue and white who broke the deadlock after 25 minutes. Some good interchange play saw the ball being spread across the field and a final surging run from Andrew West saw him go over for the points, Ross adding the two. It was to stay like this right up until the last few minutes when the opposition broke through the middle for a converted try. 7 - 7 at oranges.

The second half was shaded by the boys from Teesside and whilst our boys troubled the scorer through a Ross penalty and a Josh Brown try, the final score ended with a win for the Boro 28 - 15.

A great effort from our boys and certainly the first half score summed up how they have developed over the last twelve months....well done guys, not just for today but for your efforts over the course of the season........roll on U17s!

MotM - Jordan McPherson (for being involved in every aspect of the match and not being hospitalised!)
Penelope - Dan 'waterboy'Hunter (for repeated H2O related offences)
