Darlington Mowden Park RFC are delighted to announce the signing of Charley Purkiss-McKendoo from Harrogate RFC. The front row returns to Mowden Park having been involved in the promotion winning side in 2013/14, and is a name familiar to Mowden Park fans. Charley re-joins the club after his time with Harrogate, and was looking forward to returning to the Northern Echo Arena: “After 4 seasons away I’m excited to be back and challenge myself at this level again.”

Purkiss-McKendoo was also a part of Durham County’s County Championship winning side at Twickenham this year, alongside Mowden’s Ralph Appleby, Talite Vaioleti and Callum Burke. The 26 year-old adds further strength in depth to the DMP front row, and Head Coach Garry Law was delighted with the addition: “It’s great to see Charley back with DMP this season. He’s a local lad who’s already played a few seasons for Mowden, before moving to Harrogate and proving a consistent performer for them week in week out. He’s returned to challenge himself and we’re looking forward to him getting back in the mix and putting on a Mowden shirt again.”
