Danny Dixon claimed three tries, which is often a milestone for any player on the field, but is especially significant when it is from his loose head position in the front row.
A good overall team performance from DMPRFC on an afternoon of ideal conditions, despite early rain and the threat of more.
DMPRFC showed early intent and again should have been on the score board early doors, but the final passage of play each time allowed the visitors to escape and early pressure was absorbed.
The collisions contained the usual explosive mixture, with Liam RILEY and Graeme SEDDON combining to thwart their counterparts and turnover good ball.
On fifteen minutes Danny DIXON scored wide out after good running by Cameron MITCHELL found the prop in support, with the lively Grant CONNON adding the extras.
Grant CONNON added a penalty after the visitors had strayed offside.
A penalty just before oranges was about right for Bradford & Bingley, as DMPRFC had the majority of possession throughout the half.
To be fair to the visitors, they lost an influential flanker early doors with a nasty thumb injury and after that seemed to lose focus, especially when further injury followed to the player who replaced him.
So, at 10 – 3, the home side deserved the lead.
After oranges, DMPRFC picked up where they left off and Danny DIXON scored his brace after some enterprising midfield play by the three quarters, backed up by good forward pressure.
Shortly afterwards, Cameron MITCHELL transgressed and was sin-binned and during his absence, Bradford & Bingley scored a try via their lively winger, who converted his own try.
Danny DIXON scored his hat - trick, when he again was in support and not to be denied, dragged the ball over the line, along with a visiting defender. Grant CONNON converting.
There seemed to be a lot of play added on by the official for earlier injuries and during that time, there was still time for two tries, albeit the first was a penalty try for the visitors, after DMPRFC were adjudged to have repeatedly infringed at scrum time whilst defending their own line. Those points were easily added to and at 22 – 17, it appeared as though Bradford & Bingley were in with a shout.
To make matters worse for DMPRFC, the energetic Liam RILEY was sin binned for kicking the ball out of the scrum.
However, any thoughts of Bradford & Bingley overhauling their opponents were quickly dismissed, when Grant CONNON read the opposition right and intercepted in midfield, racing under the posts to shut out the game. He also converted his own try, as the final whistle blew, with the score at 29 – 17 and a deserved win for DMPRFC.
