DMPRFC continue their winning streak at home with a bonus point victory over Rosslyn Park RFC.

DMPRFC maintained their 100% home record of wins and try bonus points at home, with an emphatic win over Rosslyn Park RFC at the Northern Echo Arena.

DMPRFC scored six tries in the process, a brace for player of the match in home full back Grant Connon, who's blistering pace from the half way line took him past flailing defenders left in his wake.

An all round team performance however contributed to this win, with forwards and backs combining to end Rosslyn Park's hopes of an away win within 29 minutes of the first half, scoring 4-tries and racking up 24 points without reply.

However, it was Rosslyn Park who opened up the contest with pace and purpose and for the first 5 minutes, the home side could not gain any useful possession.

DMPRFC defended well though and some stern defence repelled a couple of decent forays from the visitors.

Each side were hampered early on, when the visitors lost hooker Tom Vaughan-Edwards and DMPRFC lost scrum half Matt DUDMAN, both with injuries, which caused some disruption.

For the home side, fly half Brett CONNON stepped up to the scrum half birth and throughout the game did not look out of place.
Dudman's injury brought an early introduction to the game for fly half Warren SEALS, returning after injury after limping off in the win at Birmingham Moseley RFC.

DMPRFC struck first after 9 minutes, when a penalty awarded to them in midfield was kicked to the corner. A powerful catch and drive line out followed and home hooker Chris WOOD dotted down. (5 - 0)

Two tries from Grant CONNON followed, both very similar in execution, but both an example of pace normally associated with the flying Adam Radwan.

The first on the halfway line, when the ball found it's way to him, he simply gassed the visiting defence, scampering down the far touch line for the score. (10 - 0) The try was converted by brother Brett. (12 - 0)

Almost from the restart, a carbon copy followed, with similar result down the far touchline, only this time he looked to have lost his balance 5-yards short, however his momentum took him over, as well as the flailing defender in his wake (17 - 0)

A certain try seemed to have followed, scored by wing Callum MACKENZIE, one to be brought back for a close call forward pass in the build up.

The fourth and bonus point try was to follow soon though and this time stalwart prop Ralph Appleby popped up on the nearside touchline to crash over (22 - 0), Brett CONNON converting (24 - 0).

With over 10-minutes remaining, Rosslyn Park looked down and out and even an early introduction of club skipper and talisman No. 8 Hugo Ellis, failed to galvanise their performance.

However, the tide was stemmed and when the break for oranges arrived, it was welcome salvation for the visitors who seemed keen on putting the first half behind them.

DMPRFC had hoped to get back into where they had left off, but it wasn't to be as Rosslyn Park came out fighting and to their credit, fought back with a series of attacks that showed that the DMPRFC defence was as strong as their attack.

In the third quarter of the game, both times nullified each other, but the game sprang back into life when entering the final quarter.

Two bursts by experienced centre Gary LAW penetrative the visitors defence. The first came to nothing as he ran out of pitch and support, but the second brought reward, when a deft back hand pass this time found Callum MACKENZIE in support to score (29 - 0), BRETT CONNON converting (31 - 0)

Rosslyn Park fought back and manufactured a 5-metre scrum from which they were awarded a penalty try (31 - 5), the kick not required to register the conversion. (31 - 7).

Not to be outdone, DMPRFC had the final say, when SEALS ghosted through a gap in the tired visitors defence for try number six and underline a first e victory, allowing DMPRFC to maintain their winning home record and keep the silver medal position in National League One.
