The only down side to proceedings was the late injury to promising centre and newcomer Craig DOMINICK, signed from Barnard Castle RFC, who had made a decent ‘all action’ debut prior to having to be carried from the field and on to hospital. His broken ankle took the shine off what had been a display of fast, open rugby.
Tries from debutant winger Ross BURTON, fellow debutant winger Sean BROWN, returnee utility player Ollie PETERS and a brilliant individual try by Sean McCARTNEY from inside his own five metre line, brought an end to the first two periods of play.
After a break for oranges, three further tries from Sean McCARTHY, Craig DOMINICK and another for Sean BROWN completed the scoring.
No kicks from penalties of course, no point in this type of game, but DMPRFC slotted four conversions for the 43 – 0 scoreline.
Both teams rang through the changes during the course of the periods, but Bradford and Bingley seemed rather jaded in comparison and certainly not a normal showing for them at this stage of pre-season.
Regardless, DMPRFC wish them well in their season.
