Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce that back row George Stokes has re-signed with the club ahead of the 2019/20 National One season. The hard-hitting flanker has made 26 appearances in his first season at the Arena having joined from Glasgow Warriors last summer. Having extended his stay at the club, Stokes commented: “I’ve really enjoyed the season on and off the field with a great bunch of boys and I’m looking forward to seeing how well we can do next season.”

The 23 year-old has had a positive impact since joining the club last summer, with 4 Man of the Match performances against Bishops Stortford, Ampthill, Blackheath and Moseley. Mowden Head Coach Garry Law commented: “We’re really glad to have George with us for another season. He’s been outstanding for us this year, particular in defence where he’s thrown himself into everything all season. He also compliments the back row pretty well with the other players in that position which is key to any squad. We look forward to George adding to his game even more with us next year.”

You can see George and his Mowden teammates in action for the final time this season next Saturday when they take on Bishop’s Stortford at the Arena on 27th April. Tickets will be available on the day priced at £10 for adults and FREE for U16s.
