Gateshead Collage and Mowden Park would like to invite you to the launch of Gateshead Colleges Rugby Performance Centre at Darlington Arena on Thursday 10th April 2014 starting from 11.00am.

Gateshead College in association with Darlington Arena are looking for budding rugby athletes who have a keen interest to stay in post 16 education studying a BTEC Sports course, whilst receiving the tools to develop as a rugby player. The programme itself will start in September 2014.

The aim of the day is to give all potential students a taster of the fantastic opportunities that are available for them and the benefits you could receive from this new venture, one of the biggest being that students on the programme can choose to study at either Darlington Arena or Gateshead College Academy for Sport, both of which have fantastic sporting facilities.

The taster day is open to all potential rugby athletes from 11.00am. The day will involve a training session outside, led by expert coaches, followed by a presentation of the new programme and an opportunity for anyone to ask questions.

The rugby programme, which will be based at the Darlington Arena, starting in September 2014, will provide athletes with expert coaching and guidance from Gateshead College Academy for Sport and Darlington Mowden Park RFC coaching team. Athletes will also benefit from links with local Universities, other professional sports organisations in the UK and local businesses to create clear pathways for your future progression, whilst still being able to represent their rugby club on a weekend and staying in education.
